Steps away from the State Capitol and closer to home (for me), deep in the heart of Texas, my favorite local spot for high tea is the Austin Club. This private club gives the Texas business and politics crowd motivation and support along with the wonderful tea, cakes, and sandwiches

To my good fortune, my sister treated me to my first high tea at this most famous of tea houses. Usually topping the "best-of" lists for high tea anywhere in the world, Fortnum and Mason's never disappoints.
